Well, I`m starting my journey on creating poetry and promoting it. There`s so much to it, when you are doing it as a business! There is so much to take into consideration, to figure out, etc. Pricing for profit, getting a business license, etc. Also, you have to consider how to lay out your poetry in your book. Do you want longer poems on average, or shorter? How many? Quite a harrowing journey! But in the end, it`s all worth it when you can do what you love to do and make money from it.
Personally, for myself, I wish to branch out into more fields related to poetry, to make as much money as I can off it, as I know that poetry alone hardly ever pays the bills! I have always found ways to present poetry in a unique manner, and I greatly enjoy doing so, and so I feel that serves me in good stead to come up with creative ways of making money off of poetry in more than just the traditional manner.
It`s both a daunting task and enjoyable challenge (though at first more of the former than later) to get your poetry out there, to find all the ways that you can to create it, market it. There are so many venues online for marketing now. It`s a double edged sword. It`s so easy to get your stuff out there now, but you have so many more people to compete with. It`s quite a challenge to come up with ways to make yourself stand out.
Well, this is the beginning of my journey with poetry as more than my artistic passion, as my way to make a living and live through it. Crossing fingers! If anyone has any useful links for such an endeavor, please feel free to drop a link :)
